Oh, how I hated living in the woods as a teenager. But now, as an arty-farty adult, I see some benefits coming from countryside. Every time I visit my mum, I find some new materials for my projects. For example, during Christmas time I found some left over wood shingles. They were not first class quality and would have used as fire wood if I didn’t save them. I’ve seen so many wonderful pictures of ikebana using wood shingles, so I wanted to try using them myself. My wood shingles arrangement didn’t come out very ikebana, but hey, this is my first ever experiment with wood shingles. After Christmas time one is so tired with all the blood red tones, I wanted to add some bright spring colors. Hence the pink and bright green. The flowers are tulips from nearby supermarket. Those green things I made of threaded rod and cotton yarn by simply bending the rods in to random shapes and covering them with yarn.
