Threaded rod, wool, hydrangea and rose petals arranged horizontally
I’ve noticed blue is a color I’ve been avoiding for some reason. It just doesn’t seem to appeal to me. One has to step out from one’s comfort zone to progress, so I decided to go wild and make something blue. To start I bought blue glass ware and wool from nearby thrift stores and flea markets. Opposite to blue color, threaded rod is very much my comfort zone and I’ve used it many times. So, threaded rod it is again.

I call these flower arrangements in the blue-green-yellow color scheme ”night trees”. Easy to scale in shape and size using different kind of glass ware and bending the threaded rod any way you like.

I wasn’t a blue person to begin with. But while making these ”night trees ” I got used to the color and kind of started to like it. Until, several night trees later I was sick and tired of anything blue. I needed something red. So I made some ”red woods ”.

I didn’t find a tall enough red vase from thrift store so I just covered a wine bottle with red wool. And as I got bored with red as well, I just made a small forest of grey trees and called it Grauwald.

And for a more romantic look I combined threaded rod and wool with pink flowers and berries. In this pink arrangement I used floral foam. And to cover the foam one needs to use much more material, so the look is very different from what I’ve published so far. Until now, I’ve avoided using floral foam, but recently I decided to give it a change. Why should I restrict myself from it. So, here is my 4th work with floral foam ever.
